Have you had the opportunity to embark on the Stanley seal tour in Tasmania? During their migratory journeys, hundreds of seals, 3-5 hundred to be exact, make a stop at a small island near The Nut, a short boat ride away. It is on this island that the seals take respite and enjoy some well-deserved leisure time. I had the privilege of joining the seal tour a few years ago, and I was captivated by the sight of young seals engaging in playful fights, using their weight to push each other off the rocks and into the water. Their antics were incredibly amusing, reminiscent of dog-like creatures of the ocean. So enamored by these marvelous animals, I felt compelled to capture their essence in a painting.
