Inspired by the pristine beauty of Honeymoon Bay near Coles Bay on Tasmania's East Coast - one of my most favourite places on the East Coast.
I love this place because the water is so clear, you can see down to the bottom on a really nice day, where there’s little coloured and pure white oysters shells scattered about gleaming at the bottom.
I painted a little duck, the "little drifter" gracefully navigating the bay, as I recall a fond memory of my first visit to Honeymoon bay, where a duck cruised around the bay while I explored the rocky outcrops.
The majestic hills surrounding this little bay serve as a stunning backdrop with their unique patterns of tree growth and striking orange rocky ledges. This simple yet beautiful little bay is a magical hidden gem. I wanted to capture the simple essence of this place, where we’ve stopped for refreshing swims and it’s always been such a peaceful and delightful visit.
