Vision Beyond Sight; The Unique Perspective of Emerging Artist Kataraina Koroheke

Prepare to be captivated by the remarkable story of Kataraina Koroheke, a talented Tasmanian artist making waves in the art world with her expansive dreams and exceptional skill. Despite a long battle with advanced Keratoconus starting at the young age of 17, numerous laser surgeries, and a cornea transplant that brought no success, this emerging artist is now conquering the scene with her infectious creativity and unique perspective.

Working with distorted vision and light sensitivity, each of Kataraina's paintings can take between 6 to 12 months to complete, resulting in only 4 to 5 masterpieces finished each year. She positions herself mere centimetres away from the canvas, focusing intensely on specific sections of her creations. Despite encountering frustration from eye strain that results in shortened painting sessions, Kataraina persists and remains undeterred; constantly pushing boundaries with her extraordinary spirit.

Every stroke of her brush is a masterpiece in the making, infused with her boundless passion and unwavering dedication. Get ready to embark on a visual journey with Kataraina’s art – where joy, inspiration, and artistry collide in a dazzling display.
